Today I have for your consideration the most complex custom art toy edition I have ever undertaken. Over two years of development and creation went into this series. Combining original vinyl toys with hand sculpted, hand cast and hand painted resin and metal parts. To create these high end art multiples for discerning collectors everywhere.
Obadiah Marsh -Abhorrent Piscine Denizen of the Deep- A tailor by trade, Obadiah found he had an affinity with the sea. His small personal fortune was spent on many small alterations which over time helped him move with greater ease though the oceans of the world. His new styling and tedious obsession however made him unpopular at dinner parties and he soon found himself without friends. He found new friends at the travelling circus and decided to join their ranks.
An edition of 10 customised Koibito toys originally designed by Yoskay Yamamoto and produced by Munky King. Vinyl toy with cast polyurethane parts, real metal winding key and gemstone tie-pin. 6″ tall. With limited articulation. Based on an original custom art toy from 2009. Each figure is hand assembled, finished and painted by Doktor A.
There is a very limited edition of only 10 pieces in this emerald green version. Each is signed, dated and numbered under the tail.
Each figure comes packaged in a foam lined presentation box with a signed certificate of authenticity.
A customised target bear from Luke Chueh and Munky King Toys Luke’s bears always have something terrible, problematic or sad happening to them. So I wanted to make a version of one who was just having a lovely moment. A nice cup of tea and a delicious biscuit.
The biscuit was made by my 10 year old son who is already very talented at making tiny food.

As a treat for collectors at ToyconUK this weekend I have created two special Perambulators. Painted in the “Mourning” colours of black, Steel and Purple these two renditions of the popular MunkyKing toys production will be available from my booth for just £150 each

Mechanics of Life ( The Artist’s Daily Struggle with Self Motivation )
A new collaborative small run Art Multiple with Luke Chueh and Munky King.
Designer Con at the Pasadena Convention Centre on the 21st & 22nd of November will see the launch of the new collaborative art toy from Munky King toys. Created by Doktor A using Luke Chueh’s vinyl Bear figure.
The edition of 50 pieces (25 will be available at Designer Con with the remainder available direct from Munky King soon afterwards) shows the internal mechanism of the sad bear. Required to wind his heart daily.
The 8″ tall figure features a hand cast, polished “cold cast” resin internal pieces, resin chest door and winding key, combined with original vinyl toy parts. The figure comes boxed with a wall background display piece.
Signed and numbered by the artists.

The APs of the Springtime Stroll edition of MrPumfry’s astounding Mechanised Perambulator are now available to purchase from my online store.
This colorway dropped at San Diego Comic Con 2014. Following the sold-out Autumn Amble and Winter Wanderland editions, Spring Stroll evokes the lushness of spring with rich green tones and light brass accents.
Total run was limited to only 100 pcs.

Mr. Pumfrey and his Astounding Mechanised Perabulator – “Winter Wanderland” edition is due for release at Designer Con in Pasadena this coming November 9th & 10th.
Only 100 of this second colourway of the retrobotic conveyancer will be produced by the sterling Munkyking company.
Eight inches tall with a removable pilot the, the original “Autumn Amble” version is now sold out.
Mr. Pumfrey and his Astounding Mechanised Perambulator.
A new toy designed by Doktor A and crafted by Munky King.
A Behemoth of robotic motion. The perambulator seems to stride on organic looking mechanical tentacles with Mr. Pumfrey perched in his lever, dial and switch crammed control seat. The mechanism’s internal working visible through it’s transparent red eyes.
In a total edition of 100 for this black, gold and red colourway, this is the signed and numbered edition of 15 “APs” ( Artist Proofs or Artist’s Percentage).
Each piece is signed and numbered on the underside of one tentacle in gold acrylic paint. Each Ap also comes with a signed and numbered mini art print of the original ink drawing that inspired the toy (same edition number as the AP). 4.5″ X 5.5″ on heavy archival rag stock. And a full colour promotional postcard.
