Right out of the gate with the first post lock-down event of it’s kind in London.
Designer Con the largest Art toy convention in the world, which has run in L.A for over a decade, is coming to London.
From August 20th to the 22nd at Excel in the London Docklands you will be able to experience the excitement of artists and toy makers gathered together in the real world.
Doktor A will be in attendance at booth No.94 (near the bar).
And he has prepared for your collecting enjoyment a unique selection of customised toys and super limited mini editions. See further down this email for a sneak… He will also be bringing vinyl toys from around the world, original artwork, prints and other merchandise.
This year due to the ongoing pandemic Designer Con is going online in a state of the art Virtual event at PopShop Live.
I will be streaming direct from my studio in the UK and joining several hundred other Dcon vendors in this epic live convention event.
Download the Popshop Live App for your iOS device or use a desktop or mobile browser to set up a Popshop account so you can join the fun.
You will also need to buy a ticket for the weekend from Designercon Live. To allow you secure access to the whole event within the DCon virtual area.
I will be selling Mechtorian toys and original works as well as chatting and generally hanging out for the duration of the event. Though due to time zone differences I will be streaming through the night in the UK. So may not make it right through to the end of each day.
I will also have a new Mechtorian painting to unveil. Which will be available to purchase.
I am also planning on selling some of my personal toy and art collection.
Follow my Popshop “store” : Doktor A to keep up to date with when I am live.
Show Hours : Friday November 13th : 5pm – 9pm PST. (1am – 5am GMT) Saturday November 14th: 9am – 6pm PST. (5pm – 2am GMT) Sunday November 15th: 10am – 5pm PST. (6pm – 1am GMT)
I was lucky enough to be one of the artists invited to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the popular Manga and Anime “One Piece” as part of a worldwide art campaign.
You can view the pieces by searching #bustercall on Instagram or following @bustercall_onepiece there.
Above is my piece “Dr. Anthony T. Chopper”.
The sculpture will be on show at Complex Con in Long Beach California on the 2nd – 4th November.
Pay him a visit and see lots more of the awesome art from the project at the Bustercall booth (A9) at the Long Beach Convention Center this coming weekend.

I had not an inkling that I would win this. Not with such a strong line up of such amazingly talented finalists as this year had.
It was a wonderful surprise to even be nominated.
But to win…….
Still hasn’t sunk in..
Thank you so much to those on the panel that put me forward and who choose the outcome.
It really is humbling to be recognized by your peers in such a way.
To know that all that work, obsessiveness, and worry do add up to something that touches people is truly uplifting.
Thank you to all my collectors, fans and followers.
I love what I do and because of you I can do it for living.
Support my family and create my dreams.. it doesn’t get much better that that..

Reggie loves a good starched collar! The stiffer the better! So firm it rubs the top layer of paint off his neck and polishes his metal to a shine. It hurts like hell…. But he also loves a stiff upper lip.

Bradley likes to observe the world. He sits in the park and soaks up the bustle of life around him. The ebb and flow, The chitter and clatter, The nuts and blots of it all. One day he may write a book about what he has witnessed. But for now he is quite happy to just observe.

Toy Con is here again, for it’s 7th year. Back at its previous venue of the York Hall in Bethnal Green London on the 30th & 31st of March.
This year I have a ton of new painted resin editions, some customised toys and a special mini Dunny edition to share with you. See the following posts for all the details.
I also have a different booth placement this year. Booth number 32. One block towards the door from previous years. Opposite the awesome Muju World.
Pop over to the official website to book your tickets. I will see you all there.
For the duration of January I am adding a little extra to purchases from my online store!
As a way of saying thank you for your support – and an injection of positive vibes for the start of the new year, any purchase of £25 or more will receive a FREE GIFT.
Just make your purchase from my store as usual and the gift will be added at the packing stage.
Tit for tat – Hat. Get ahead! Get a hat! In this case literally. In Mechtoria any object from a building to an item of clothing may in fact be a sentient person with their own opinions and desires. So putting together a harmonious outfit may take on an entirely different meaning.
For Designer Con I have created a very limited hand painted edition of just 10 pieces of each of the three new Tall Titfer characters.
Each figure comes with a real solid cast metal key.
There is the Teal Topper, Emerald Bowler and Red Fez.
Each will be only $50.
A small number will be available on Preview night.
The rest will be open for sale at the main door time.
Any remaining after the show will be offered online.
