The Blinky Allsop Teal hand-painted edition was created exclusively for Designer Con London.
An industrious and mischievous little fellow.
Blinky is able to turn his hand (or rather his prehensile mustache) to just about anything.
Though he has never really got to grips with Macramé.
Each figure in this super limited edition of only 10 is hand finished and painted by Doktor A.
This polyurethane resin Mechtorian figure stands 2.5″.
And comes with a cast metal winding key.
Each is signed, numbered and dated on the underside.
And comes in a foam lined box.

Right out of the gate with the first post lock-down event of it’s kind in London.
Designer Con the largest Art toy convention in the world, which has run in L.A for over a decade, is coming to London.
From August 20th to the 22nd at Excel in the London Docklands you will be able to experience the excitement of artists and toy makers gathered together in the real world.
Doktor A will be in attendance at booth No.94 (near the bar).
And he has prepared for your collecting enjoyment a unique selection of customised toys and super limited mini editions. See further down this email for a sneak…

Today I have for your consideration the most complex custom art toy edition I have ever undertaken.
Over two years of development and creation went into this series. Combining original vinyl toys with hand sculpted, hand cast and hand painted resin and metal parts. To create these high end art multiples for discerning collectors everywhere.
Obadiah Marsh

A tailor by trade, Obadiah found he had an affinity with the sea.
His small personal fortune was spent on many small alterations which over time helped him move with greater ease though the oceans of the world.
His new styling and tedious obsession however made him unpopular at dinner parties and he soon found himself without friends.
He found new friends at the travelling circus and decided to join their ranks.
An edition of 10 customised Koibito toys originally designed by Yoskay Yamamoto and produced by Munky King.
Vinyl toy with cast polyurethane parts, real metal winding key and gemstone tie-pin.
6″ tall. With limited articulation. Based on an original custom art toy from 2009.
Each figure is hand assembled, finished and painted by Doktor A.
There is a very limited edition of only 10 pieces in this emerald green version.
Each is signed, dated and numbered under the tail.
Each figure comes packaged in a foam lined presentation box with a signed certificate of authenticity.

This year due to the ongoing pandemic Designer Con is going online in a state of the art Virtual event at PopShop Live.
I will be streaming direct from my studio in the UK and joining several hundred other Dcon vendors in this epic live convention event.

For the last three months I have been working away, putting this series of unique customised Janky characters together.
I have pushed the detail levels usually found on a 3.5″ figure. Adding tons of idiosyncratic, character building stuff. The inclusion of many props help add story to reach piece.
The Airship Factory in Retropolis has many moving parts and many skilled craftsmen. Each doing their part to create the large sky bound Mechtorians that float about the city.
The series includes eight unique hand crafted customised vinyl figures.
Each built on a Janky mini figure vinyl toy made by Superplastic.
No resin casting multiples have been used.
Each piece of each figure down to the last individual rivet has been carefully chosen, crafted and hand placed.
It makes this mini series something really special.
