This weekend the 3rd and 4th of September Once again sees the amazing Designer Con UK decent on Excel in London. And I will be vending!
This year I was given the honour of designing the event passes so everyone present will be wearing a piece of Mechtorian artwork around their neck. Which is a fun idea.
On my booth (No.68) I will have a selection of new customised toy pieces available. As well as a selection of toys and merchandise. See the image on the previous post for the exclusive mini edition “Elwood Barker”. Only 6 of these were created.
I am always happy to chat, answer questions and sign and doodle on things you bring along.
And this year I will also be up on the main stage as one of the featured artists at the convention. My slot is 3.30-4pm on Saturday. So bring any questions you have along with you.
All the works in my solo show at Clutter Gallery are now available online for worldwide sales.
So this is your chance to add a serious piece of Mechtorian art to your fabulous collection.
The show is open to visit in person until September the 2nd at Clutter Gallery (163 Main St, Beacon, NY 12508, USA).
This is my first solo show on the East coast in almost a decade.
“The Future Ain’t What it Used to Be.” A retro-futuristic look back at how the present doesn’t quite deliver on the promises of the past. A tongue in cheek view of our own world through mechanical eyes from an alternative history.
In part this show represents my reaction to world events over the last few years.
Where are the new ideas? The original voices? The fresh new styles? Drowned out in a sea of regurgitation and repetition. Struggling to get their voices heard before they are washed away in the ersatz creativity of popular culture.

When they agree and play in harmony the results are uplifting and beautiful. But when they disagree. And are not on the same page. It is worrying how quickly things descend into chaos.

Though his friends try to tell him that his thoughts are not his own. He will not believe them. He knows that there is no little man in his head steering his life. He would know! If only he had eyes he could double check..
